Tales from the CyberSalon – #2 A New High Street
Cybersalon presents: Tales from the Cyber Salon; a series of interdisciplinary, technology and policy investigations through science-fiction storytelling. Spanning four events across the year, ‘Tales from the Cyber Salon’ will feature newly commissioned, speculative short stories written for the exploration of Healthcare, The High Street, Digital Communities and Political Representation.
The event was held on Tuesday, 8th June where we interrogated near-future and post-retail visions of the high street and reimagined the centres of our towns and cities.
To help explore our tales on this theme and those of the accelerated, digital transformations brought about by Covid-19 we were joined on the night by:
- Priya Prakash (@priyascape) – Founder & CEO of Design for Social Change, BSI Smart Cities Interoperability Committee Member, D&AD Impact Council Jury President & Member
- Rachael Armstrong – Professor of Experimental Architecture in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at Newcastle University, 2010 Senior TED Fellow & Metabolism Lead Coordinator for the Living Architecture Systems Group
- Paul Wilson – Chief Business Officer of Connected Places Catapult & Chair of the Advisory Board for Smart Cities World
